An brass centerpiece bowl, model Kunga-Skålen
(“The King’s Bowl”), designed by Carl-Einar Borgström for Ystad Metall, Sweden, during the 1940s. Superb example of Swedish Modern, combining clean, understated lines with refined decorative detailing. The broad, shallow bowl is raised on a distinctive pierced foot featuring stylized foliate ornament, creating a striking contrast between the smooth, understated form of the bowl and the intricate openwork below.
